Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) Online Application/Nomination for Volunteer Positions

Call for Volunteers: USCAP Co-moderator– Deadline May 5

Are you an AMP member and a regular attendee of the USCAP meeting? Would you like to represent AMP as the co-moderator of the AMP Companion Meeting at the 2026 and 2027 USCAP Annual Meeting? We are looking for one energetic, enthusiastic, and organized individual for a 2-year appointment, so that you can be mentored by the current co-moderator in the 2026 (San Antonio, TX) planning process as you prepare for being the lead moderator in 2027 (Vancouver, Canada).

REQUIREMENTS: You must be a regular USCAP attendee (travel not funded by AMP) and be familiar with the audience and content of the USCAP annual meeting, as well as being a committed AMP member with strong skills in molecular pathology. The AMP Companion meeting is accredited for CME; therefore, applicants who are employees or owners of commercial companies may be disqualified.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with the co-moderator to help design a short course for the AMP companion meeting. You will co-write the proposal with the co-moderator, attend an on-boarding call with AMP staff, invite appropriate faculty for the course (or be a speaker yourself), moderate the session at USCAP on site, and work with AMP and USCAP office staff to organize handouts and other logistical details.

  • Pre-analytic considerations (e.g., tumor purity) for MBC molecular testing
  • The pathologist’s role in molecular biomarker testing (send-out vs. in-house, multidisciplinary collaboration)
  • NCCN guidelines for tumor biomarker testing in MBC, with focus on PIK3CA, AKT1, PTEN, and ESR1, and related treatment options
  • Interpreting test results (liquid- and tissue-based samples)
  • Upcoming clinical trials with potential implications for diagnostic lab practice
